Data, Data, Data!

1st post!

So I've been a special education teacher for going on 6 years.
I've had awesome mentors.
My district offers pretty great trainings.
I work with other, incredible SPED teachers.
My supervisor & admin are super supportive...

... and I feel like I'm just now, REALLY able to take data correctly.
I'm in grad school, and let me tell you- a recent class I had opened my eyes to information that... frankly, I'm dumbfounded other SPED teachers don't know!!

I'M TALKING ABOUT THE BASICS, PEOPLE.
We learn how to write IEPs. We learn about various strategies.
We need to learn this data collection stuff before we even get started, too!

Data. Data. Data.
It affects everything!
(as it should)

Think about your IEP goals and/or objectives.
Are they REALLY observable and measurable? Would they pass the stranger test?
How do you collect your data?
 Frequency? Duration? Interval?

What about the data that has to be taken that's more observable than data resulting from permanent product data (tangible data [like written tests], progress monitoring probes, etc.) such as behavior data?

WELP.
If you were like "whaaaaaa?" or felt unsure about any of those questions,
I'm here to help and brainstorm with you :)

Pinterest and TpT have a lot of good resources, which I will definitely share as some have helped me loads.
I'll also share some of the ones I've made for super specific situations, especially those relating to behavior (which is my jam and, if I may say so, my forté).

Teamwork makes the dream work!
(but really...)
